What does this creature or plant look like? This week I saw snow geese. It was the first time I had ever seen them. I know that there are many types of unusual birds that pass through the Chicago area on their annual migrations. I even knew that there are snow geese, I just had never seen them, and I didn't know that they pass this way.

I was in a rural area near Joliet. Joliet is a town about 80 miles from Chicago. I was with some other people in a field when I saw a large flock of big birds flying overhead. They had the familiar "V" formation that I always know for geese.

As I looked at them more closely, I notice that they were not the familiar brown color that I always see. At first, I thought they might be pelicans as there is a white pelican that I know lives in the north. As I looked at them some more, I started to think they were some kind of goose.
