All of the students, teachers, and chaperones from Gallistel lined up next to the ship. "Welcome to the tall ship Windy," announced one of the crewmembers. "Please climb on board one at a time."
There were about 75 people on the field trip. Windy had a crew of 5 people. That means there were 80 people on board. "Can you fit this many people on Aldebaran?" my friend Megan asked.
"No way!" I exclaimed. "You would have to pack people in like sardines to get 80 people on Aldebaran. Windy is 150 feet long. That means she's more than three times as long as Aldebaran! That's why Aldebaran is called a sailboat and Windy is called a sailing ship."
We pulled away from the dock and looked back at the city of Chicago. "The clouds make it look like the buildings have disappeared," said my friend Eduardo.
