What tradition did we learn about? Schools in the United States have a tradition of taking students on field trips. A field trip is a trip that a classroom takes to somewhere outside the school. The purpose of a field trip is to see and experience something outside the classroom walls.

I remember going on field trips when I was in elementary school. We visited the zoo and a museum. We didn't get a chance to ride on a sailing ship like the students from Gallistel!

I was excited to go on a sailing ship and see how it compared to Aldebaran. I was also excited to learn more about Chicago.
