Today is Dec 1, 2008 and my adventure on the ice is almost at an end. We were able to finish our research early. This meant that the team could come back to McMurdo Station a few days early for rest and relaxation.

I can honestly say we can breathe a sigh of relief, now that everything is winding down. I have been coming to McMurdo by helicopter to do education conferences, and then flying back to field camp. It's nice to be here with time to rest. It feels different and more permanent! I am able to unwind.

This past Thursday was Thanksgiving in the US. Since this is a US science station, we celebrate Thanksgiving here as well.
