Graffiti, Graffiti Everywhere

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

Graffiti and public art have been a way for people to express themselves throughout history, especially during difficult times. Colombia went through a long and difficult civil war where a lot of people were hurting and scared. When these people were being controlled and repressed in many parts of their lives, one way they could rebel was through street art and graffiti. They used it to express their ideas about the conflict and what was happening. Even though the conflict in Colombia has ended, people continue to use street art as a way to express themselves and their culture today.
