There aren´t too many people who speak English in Colombia! They are also always happy to speak to me in Spanish, so I can learn too! I´m so happy that I joined the language exchange. It has helped me meet some new people and practice Spanish!
2) I started taking salsa dancing lessons! Salsa is a common type of dance in Colombia and I love watching it, but I didn´t know how to dance it myself. I decided to sign up even though I have never been very good at dancing! Even though it´s hard trying something new and learning the dance, I have had a lot of fun dancing in a way I never have before! I feel like I´m connecting with Colombian culture because it seems like every person I meet here knows how to salsa dance already!
It makes me feel brave to try new things and meet new people. I am having a great time getting to know the culture here and getting involved with it in new ways!
