About Me

Spain is a beautiful country and the people are muy simpatico (very friendly). In my free time, I take Spanish classes to help integrate myself in my community. Spaniards have a saying, “Las fronteras de mi lengua son las fronteras de mi mundo,” which translates to the boundaries of my language are the boundaries of my world. I find this to be true and try to take every advantage to learn the language and immerse myself in the culture.

I hope that by corresponding for the next month and a half, I can communicate a sense of appreciation for the world outside of our country and maybe spark an interest in languages. The world is a large, diverse, beautiful place that we are all lucky to call home. We, unfortunately, tend to forget that at times, but a little cultural understanding goes a long way and can make it easier for everyone. The best way to gain this understanding is to learn the language and try to immerse yourself in another’s culture. Luckily, it is fun, and I hope you can see this in the upcoming month!
