Hello there, new friends! My name is James Larson and over the next few months we will get to know more about each other as I share my journey to Italy with you.
I am currently living and studying in Turin, Italy which is a city in the northwest of Italy. Turin is well known for having hosted the Winter Olympics in 2006, its many interesting museums and for having many amazing restaurants. Like the rest of Italy, they speak Italian here, although it is becoming increasingly common for people to know English as well. I have been studying Italian for a year to prepare for my journey to Italy and I still learn many new words every day I am here. I hope to share many of the Italian words I have learned with you!
As we all learn about Italian culture together, we will start to think with a more global perspective that may even push you to go on your own travel journey someday. This global perspective is important to have as it will help you relate with the people you will meet who come from faraway places. I am very excited that we get to go on this journey together and I can’t wait to meet you all!
