Recently, a new movie, Perro Bomba, was released. It shows the difficulty of life for some Haitian immigrants in Chile. I am hopeful that this movie will show the true struggle of the immigrants and that it will start a change in culture. It is difficult to know someone’s perspective if we do not share our stories. That is why talking about your feelings and sharing your stories is so important! The Chilean people have also started to share their feelings about the drought through activism directed against large agricultural companies who are monopolizing water resources in the region. This is one of the reasons behind the widespread demonstrations in their country. Like people everywhere, the Chilean people need water to live, and they need to protect their land for future generations. Sometimes we are scared to talk about ourselves or what we feel, but it is important to do so if we want to bring about change and desire to connect with our community.
