Traveling is a way to connect with other cultures and languages, but that does not mean you cannot find similar experiences at home. There are people all around us with different experiences and perspectives. Their stories can change the way we think and feel. For this reason, we should treat everyone with kindness. In the Mapuche (native Chilean) language, there is a word, newen. Newen signifies the energy of the people that connects one person to another. It is a very powerful force, and I have definitely felt its power while living in Chile.
