A Community Fit For Me

They take turns visiting my class every Thursday to practice and, through these interactions, I’ve learned even more about the culture of the young adult population in Guayaquil.

Essentially, I’m grateful for how well I’ve been intermingling with my community. Each day, I’m experiencing major preparation for the care of my future patients and being challenged to get better with Spanish. As I told you before, I am a scientist and I wouldn’t be myself if I did not have a question to ask. This has been one of the greatest ways to help me connect with people here in Ecuador. People like to see that you are interested in their culture and, they will always make themselves available to answer any questions. When it’s time for you to travel abroad, make sure you have your questions ready!
