Traveler Bio

Ciao! Hi! My name is Brianna Bartelt, and I am 24 years old. I am from Nashville, Tennessee and love songwriting, gardening and collecting antiques. At first, I went to college near Nashville, but after a year I decided to change schools. I ended up at Boston University where I studied architectural history. At BU, I discovered my interest in historic preservation (taking care of old buildings and important sites for future generations). This interest led me to intern with several museums, including the Smithsonian, where I helped take care of historical sites and artifacts. I also became a tour guide at one of Boston's house museums: The Gibson House. There, I educated visitors about domestic and servant life in 19th-century Boston.

For my last semester of college, I decided to study abroad in Venice, Italy. I will be taking part in the Venice Studio Arts Program offered by BU. I am excited to study art and architecture in one of the most visually striking cities in the world. I'm looking forward to sharpening my drawing, design, and foreign language skills. I recently received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State to study abroad, which made this opportunity a reality. I am so grateful and excited for this opportunity and can't wait to share my experiences with you!
