Hello! My name is Bonnie Chen, and I am a 21-year-old student studying abroad in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy! I am originally from California State University in Long Beach, where I study Healthcare Administration and Human Resource Management. Some of my hobbies are watching funny movies with my friends, going to music concerts, trying new foods and traveling!
I was born and raised in Southern California. Other than traveling to nearby states and to Taiwan once, I never really got the chance to travel as much as I would like too. That is why studying abroad seemed like the perfect opportunity to explore Europe, more specifically Italy. When I was growing up, I only knew the Asian culture. Every meal was served with steamed rice, and every new year was celebrated based on the lunar calendar. As I have grown, I have learned to get used to other American customs and traditions. This made me want to learn more about every culture and fully put myself in cultures that are different from my own.
My goal is to find a career which combines my education in healthcare administration with my passion to work with students. As of now, my degree and the people I want to work with, seem to be very different and at opposite ends of the spectrum.
