Italy v. America!

As soon as I got to Italy, I felt the difference between the two culture. The food, ways of transportation and laundry machines were just some key things on the long list of differences I had noticed within the first couple of minutes of getting here. I felt nervous and out of place. However, adapting to this culture, recognizing the differences and embracing the change, are some of the many things I've learned so far on this adventure.

First and foremost, the food. Back in California, I would have a big selection of food. In the area I live, there are all types of food in close distance from one another. However, in Italy, most of the food places have some sort of pizza, pasta or panini. Even though I do miss the selections of food I had back home, being in Italy allowed me to fully immerse myself in the culture and try foods I wouldn't have tried otherwise. Now, all I want is a piece of brushchetta, which is fresh tomatoes, lightly tossed in olive oil and put on a pieace of grilled bread. So yummy!

Next is the transportation in Italy. I would drive myself in a car everywhere back at home. It was the easiest way since everything was so far away from each other. Back at home, I would have trouble finding parking for my car, but here, everyone has trouble finding a parking spot for their motorcycle or bike!
