Have You Eaten...Noodles for Breakfast?

I have learned a bit about the history of Malaysia so far, including that there is a large Chinese community that settled here. Do you remember when I mentioned that Mandarin is one of the languages you might hear in Malaysia? There are a lot of shopping malls in KL and if you were to walk through the city center right now you will see many lanterns, ribbons and other red-colored decorations for Chinese New Year.

When I think of home right now I also think of the types of decorations in my town for holidays or for a season. Boston was cold and snowy when I left and Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Year’s had just passed. These are holidays that we celebrate in the U.S. so the decorations are often in public spaces like malls, restaurants or even outside. What are some of your favorite holidays? How does your family or your city celebrate it?
