And while I feel my independence, confidence and capability to travel has greatly increased, what has really changed the most is my ability to integrate into a new community. I have met and befriended many new people through the clubs and societies I have joined. International Society, the Outdoor Pursuits Club and Surf Club have provided me with the opportunity to find people who are interested in similar activities. And I have become incredibly close with all seven of my roommates! We listen to music from each other's countries, have had countless movie nights and are looking forward to continuing to travel with one another for the remainder of the semester!
While I am not alone as much as I thought I would be, I have appreciated the chance to meet so many new and different people.
