A Little Bit About Me

I wanted to spend a whole year living in an Arabic-speaking culture. I knew my friendships would grow deeper and I would learn so much, so I applied to the Middle East North Africa Fellowship to find a job. I got matched with an English teaching job at an immersion preschool in Tunisia, a small country I had heard a lot about because of its beauty and its new democracy, established in 2011.

I now live a short walk from the Mediterranean Sea, on the northern coast of Africa, where French and the Tunisian dialect of Arabic (very different from standard Arabic) is spoken in the streets and at home. Tunisia has been the seat of great kingdoms and the breadbasket of enormous empires, but now it is a small country the size of the state of Georgia, with a proud and free parliamentary democracy. I moved here in August of 2019, and will be here teaching, learning, and exploring for ten months!

I'm excited to begin sharing this adventure with you! Let's go!
