Traveler Bio

Hello friends! My name is Amanda and over the next few weeks I will be sharing all the information I have about my life in Spain, Spain's culture and its language. I am 23 years old and was born in the United States. I've studied Spanish for 10 years and I got my college degree in Spanish and Education.

I moved to Spain in September with a scholarship called Fulbright. With the scholarship I will spend the year teaching English classes in schools around the city I live in. I live in Oviedo, Spain which is in a comunidad autonoma (province) called Asturias. A province is like a state in the United States. Not many people know about Asturias becuase it is not a popular tourist destination for foreigners (it is all the way up north). There are mountians, beaches and parks everywhere! It is called the "green" part of Spain. Living here has taught me so much about how imporatnt cross-cultural learning is!

I will do my very best to write the most informative and fun articles for you all. I am very excited to get started and share everything I have learned and to answer all of your questions!  Please do not hestiate to ask any question you may have - no question is a silly question! Learning is fun and important! I can't wait to take this journey with you guys! Hasta luego chicos y chicas! (See you later girls and boys!)
