The Kids Life in Belgium

Introduction:

Belgian kids benefit from having a good education system that emphasizes creativity and healthy habits. I spoke with students of all ages to learn what is it like to grow up here.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, we usually have strawberries which are a staple of our country. We have whole grains and vegetables for lunch. Sometimes we have beef stew for dinner because it is a traditional meal.

What is your house like?:

We live in houses outside of the town of Leuven near farms. It is very peaceful and gives us a lot of space to play outdoors.

What chores do you have at home?:

We help our families with chores around the house such as cleaning our clothes and washing the dishes. Our job is to study so we focus on that.

What jobs do your parents have?:

Most of our parents are either professors at KU Leuven or work in the offices there. Some parents are employees in Brussels and live near Leuven because it is peaceful.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

We usually start school at 09:00 AM and leave by 03:30 PM on most days, except on Wednesday where we leave at 12:30 PM.
