Coming in June 2012: RTW's GeoTech Kids Club Science Fair

In June 2012, Reach the World's GeoTech Kids Club will hold its first-ever Science Fair at the Rafael Hernandez Dual Language School (PS/MS 218) in the Bronx, NY. Stay tuned to this page for updates on how RTW is pioneering in "STEM+" education for youth, thanks to our participation in the HP Catalyst Initiative grant program!

HP GeoTech Lab Opens at PS/MS 218!

In September 2010, Reach the World received a grant to participate in the HP Catalyst Initiative, a two-year global social innovation program designed to develop more effective approaches to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education worldwide. RTW's partner in this special grant program is PS/MS 218, the Rafael Hernandez Dual Language Middle School, located in the Bronx, NY!

As a part of the HP Catalyst Initiative, PS/MS 218 received $130,000 in HP equipment, including tablet notebook computers, wireless printers and a dedicated server. PS/MS 218 did not have a dedicated computer lab prior to this grant, making this a wonderful opportunity not only for the Sixth Grade students who are directly involved in Reach the World, but also for the entire student body!

The "HP GeoTech Lab" opened with great fanfare on March 7, 2011! Please view the video and presentation, below, to learn more about the story of PS/MS 218's journey with Reach the World.
