Goal |
Students
will learn about the traditional way of life in a small Senegalese
village.
|
Students
will analyze climate data in four locations around the world. |
| Activities |
1)
Build a to-scale model of a Senegalese
house using measurements from the travelers. 2)
Write a description of each room,
its purpose, and the activities that take place there.
3) Describe
the plants and animals located in the house. 4)
Compare and contrast Senegalese and
American ways of life. |
1)
Select four of the journey’s
destinations. Determine the longitude and latitude of each place
and research the climate of each place. 2)
Use the data to create graphs showing
temperatures and rainfall over time for each location.
3) Use
the data and the graphs to compare and contrast climates from
these destinations. Identify the factors that make climates
similar and different. |
